Methylamine hydrochloride is the white crystalline salt formed when methylamine gas is neutralized with hydrochloric acid (CH3NH2·HCl, CAS 593-51-1). This locks the normally pungent, gaseous amine into a stable, low-volatility solid, far more practical for weighing, storage, and shipment than the parent gas.
Used as a methylamino-group building block in API and drug-intermediate synthesis, and equivalently in agrochemical active manufacturing. Also used in specialty catalyst, rubber, and dye/surfactant intermediate chemistry, and — more recently — as a precursor in perovskite solar cell material research.

A methylamino building block for pharmaceutical intermediates, agrochemical actives, catalysts, and (emerging) perovskite solar research.
No — it's the solid HCl salt of the gaseous amine methylamine; much easier and safer to handle.
GHS Warning — harmful if swallowed, skin/eye/respiratory irritant; not classified as flammable.

Tightly closed, cool, dry, well-ventilated — it's hygroscopic and will absorb moisture if left exposed.
